I love the beach, but sometimes in my rush to soak up some rays, I forget to pack the essentials. For my reference (as much as yours), here is a list of all the must-haves for this season’s beach adventures.
What to Bring
For any outing to the beach, a few items are absolutely essential. First on our list is sun block! Don’t let hazy days fool you. Whenever you are outside, you are at risk of sun damage. Lather up before hitting the sand and remember to reapply every few hours.
Also bring water bottles with you so you stay hydrated in the heat – I recommend freezing some the night before so they stay cold longer.
It may seem obvious, but a towel or blanket is another must-have. Vera Bradley’s floral patterned towels are fun and feminine, making them the perfect accessory to brighten your already sunny day. You can pick one up at select campus bookstores for about $30.00.
Last on our essentials list is a cute tote to toss all of your beach gear in. This Striped Straw Tote available at Target is reminiscent of traditional nautical colors, great for a day by the water.
What to Wear
Unleash your wild side this summer with animal print attire. This strapless terry cover-up (available at select campus bookstores) is sure to turn heads. It’s also comfy and convenient for a day laying poolside.
School may be out for the summer, but school spirit is always in style. Show off your pride to fellow beach-goers with some school logoed apparel. Pick up a cute tee, tank or shorts and show sunbathers just how cool your school really is!
What to Do
Top of my list of beach activities is catching up on books & magazines. A close second? Building sandcastles with my younger cousins! For the more active types, toss a Frisbee or volleyball into your bag. These types of games are a great way to meet new people, just be sure not to annoy the people around you!
Now that you’re ready to get your feet sandy, tell us where you are headed this summer below!
