Each year, it seems that American Idol encounters the same dilemma: who will be a part of the judging panel? In recent years the panel underwent a massive upheavel: saying goodbye to longtime judges, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, and eventually welcoming in new judges, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.
After the most recent season, J.Lo has hinted that she’s very busy with her other business ventures and will be leaving the show. This might not be the best move considering how much the show has boosted her music career. In addition to Lopez’s possible departure, Steven Tyler also has recently announced his plans to leave the show. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Billboard announced this week that Adam Lambert might be taking her spot on the judge’s panel and Adam said he definitely would not give up that chance. This gig ultimately could help his career in the same way it helped Jennifer Lopez’s. Lambert has a great voice and is a great performer and could be a useful resource for upcoming contestants. At the end of the day, it all comes down to ratings, so we shall see who they pick.
