ACC Could Lose Clemson

It is now common knowledge that Syracuse University, Pitt, and West Virginia have all completed negotiations to leave the Big East college conference and move the ACC.

ESPN reported today that the Clemson Board of Trustees indicated that they would be willing to leave the ACC if they were given the right offer. No offer from other divisions have been made.

Despite the new arrival of three top schools, I don’t think some of the colleges are considering what the student body wants. Moving conferences could mean losing spirit.

Some of the most memorable moments and most school-spirited events revolve around key rivalries. At Syracuse, for instance, we will no longer face our basketball rivalries such as UConn, Georgetown, and Villanova. Students used to sit in line, camp out, and do whatever they could to get tickets just to attend these monumental games. These are the key things that bring schools, students, and fans closer together which ignites a passion for their school.

Which rivalries would you miss most if your school switched conferences?
