"S" Is the New "A" at Utica

Utica College must be on Santa’s nice list this year–especially if its plan to abolish GPA’s for freshman becomes a reality!

The Utica College Office of Student Success has proposed to eliminate the GPA for freshman during the fall semester.  That means, instead of getting an A through C letter grade, you would get an “S” for “satisfactory.”  If you earn a C- or lower, you get the dreaded “U” for, you guessed it, “unsatisfactory.”

Why is Utica doing this?  To help first-years ease into the demands of college life and the workload.

I like.  Now, if only my school was oh, so understanding of first-year hardships. *Sigh*
