Are you visiting another campus this coming weekend to see friends or as a simple getaway? This weekly post will fill you in as to what to see when you visit universities and colleges across the nation. Our first stop?– Coppin State University
Coppin State’s history stretched back more than 100 years. Named for Fanny Jackson Coppin, a woman born into slavery who later became a pioneer in teacher education, the university sits on 52-acres in West Baltimore, MD.
Situated in Baltimore, a city of rich history and culture, a student or visitor to Coppin State learns a ton not only inside the classroom, but outside, as well. Be sure to visit the Maryland Historical Society and Baltimore Museum of Art while in town. Plus, if the weather cooperates, the Inner Harbor is a great way to spend a weekend; touring shops, walking along the water and visiting the National Aquarium is a perfect Saturday afternoon.
If you’re into the arts, check to see which concerts and shows are on tap for the weekend– You may even be lucky to catch one of Coppin State’s step performances, like this one.
Whatever you choose to do in Baltimore, your trip to Coppin State University is sure to be a great one!
