The Ivy League is looking to further protect its football players, by limiting the amount of full-contact practices the teams can hold, according to a New York Times report.
This new, strict rule aims to reduce head injuries, such as concussions, amongst its players. Research has shown players sustain more hits to the head during practices than during actual games, according to the Journal of Athletic Training. So, limiting full-conact practices may be the best way to protect students.
What do you think about this new rule? Should this new policy be extended to other sports, as well? To other conferences?
