In a recent article by Pauline Frommer, fourteen college campuses across the United States were deemed most beautiful. From Massachusetts to Tennessee and all the way to California, here are some of the schools that made the list.
Clemson University – Located in Clemson, South Carolina, this university is noted for its beautiful campus, reminiscent of the Pre-Civil War south. Some of the buildings on campus were once the home of the school’s namesake, Thomas Green Clemson. According to Clemson.edu, the university puts great deal of effort into maintaining the historic feel of the campus.
Northwestern University – Northwestern University sits near the shores of the vast Lake Michigan, in Illinois. Its campus has changed and expanded over the years but it remains one of the most scenic to date. Home of the famous Deering Library, this campus is not only known to be gorgeous, but for its academic excellence, as well.
Sewanee University – Located in Tennessee, Sewanee University’s website deems it “The University of the South”… and for good reason. Several acres of this expansive campus are found in the unoccupied Tennessee wilderness. It only makes sense that a school featuring such beautiful architecture be placed within such pristine forests.
