It’s that time again– The weekend is just in sight. You spend all week waiting for Friday and may even quietly hum a few lines of the Rebecca Black song (whether you admit it or not). The excitement builds in your brain and then, without warning, tragedy strikes. You suddenly remember that you have no plans! But before you succumb to spending the weekend sulking in your home or dorm — keep reading. All you need is a camera or camera phone and your weekend just might be rescued after all (cue the dramatic music).
It’s time for a Photo Scavenger Hunt. Whether it be with friends or as a solo mission, we guarantee you will enjoy yourself.
Where to Start
First and foremost, you need a list of items or tasks that have to be photographed. These can be found by searching the Internet, but we found a solid list on Coolest-Parties.com that contains individual items, group activities, and video-taping scenarios. Want something more specific to your location? Ask a friend, sibling, or even a parent to draw up a list.
On the (Scavenger) Hunt
Determine some rules. If you’re playing in teams, set time limits, meeting places, and any other stipulations that might be necessary. If you’ll be participating alone or with a friend, take your time and enjoy searching and exploring. Remember to photograph everything!
And the Winner is…
If you decide to play in groups, the easiest way to determine the winning team is simply to see which group obtains all of the items on the list first but you can also develop a point system. Lastly, what would a game be without prizes?? Try sweetening the deal by having the losing team buy pizza after the hunt or the winners each receiving a candy bar of their choice.
Things to Remember
– Leave the dangerous stunts to the professionals – this isn’t Fear Factor.
– Be creative! If an item or task has left you stumped, try thinking outside of the box.
– Have fun!
Now you’re all set and ready to take on Friday-Sunday! Happy Hunting!
