College is rarely (if ever) associated with good nutrition and healthy eating habits. However, making positive dietary choices can be easier than you think! With March being National Nutrition Month, it’s the perfect time to present you with our quick set of easy tips for eating healthy on campus and off.
1. Stay hydrated. The goal should be to drink 64 oz. of water each day so make sure to keep a water bottle on hand. Pick one up at your campus bookstore so you can refill and go!
2. Eat breakfast. Breakfast gives you an energy boost, helps prevent overeating, and also helps boost your metabolism. Can you think of a better way to start the day?
3. Add color to your diet. Integrating fresh fruits and vegetables into your meals provides a wide array of nutrients. Plus, they’re delicious!
4. Limit junk food and sugary drinks. Make smart substitutions: opt for a handful of almonds instead of potato chips or a cup of tea instead of soda.
