The Video Music Awards’ Surprise Star

MTV’s Video Music Awards – which aired last night – were packed with tons of superstars from all genres of music. One of the surprising stars of the night, however, was the South Korean pop star, Psy. Responsible for the strangely catchy, “Gangnam Style,” Psy boasts more than 120 million YouTube views and a loyal band of followers.

His bizarre dance moves and infectious music recently caught the attention of renowned manager, Scooter Braun (yes, the same man who manages both Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen). Psy has been signed to Island Records and he and Braun are hoping to “make some history together and be the first Korean artist to break a big record in the United States.”
