If your schedule is packed, skip the gym session and find other ways to squeeze in some physical fitness. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or ride your bike to class instead of taking the bus. Work exercising into your everyday routine!

Need a pick-me-up? Hit the gym! Exercising literally can lift your mood by stimulating the specific brain chemicals that can leave you feeling happier and calmer. Next time you’re feeling down, go for a jog or swing by the fitness center for 30 minutes.

When your heart and lungs work best, your body has more energy to run on. Furthermore, research has shown that those who make time to exercise regularly, are more energetic and productive than their less active counterparts.

Studies have shown that exercise enhances cognitive function and helps keep your mind sharp. Even low-intensity activities help fight off memory loss and maintain vocabulary skills! U.S. News mentions that exercise seems to protect the hippocampus, the area of the brain that controls memory and spatial awareness. What’s better than a healthy body and mind!?

Exercise Boosts Your Self-Confidence

Exercise is known for improving self-esteem. Even small improvements in physical fitness (for example, shaving a few minutes off your mile time or lifting slightly heavier weights) can boost confidence and elevate one’s overall feelings of self-worth.
