Easy Holiday Recipes on a College Budget

We’d be lying if we said good food wasn’t one of the best parts of the holiday season. There’s nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a warm gooey brownie or devouring a savory slice of turkey with gravy. However, as a college student it’s hard to find the time to spend all day in the kitchen cooking and baking. It’s also not easy on the wallet when that pie you wanted to bake calls for 20+ ingredients and some fancy pie dish.

We took all of that into consideration while coming up with this list of festive recipes. We definitely want you to “wow” everyone at the holiday party with an amazing dish – but we also want you to have a chance to sleep in, relax, and keep that money in your wallet!

Peppermint Oreo Fudge

Just the name of this dish makes our mouths water! Oreo’s and fudge are already known favorites among many, but adding the peppermint provides a holiday twist. The best part about this recipe? It only requires THREE ingredients! Could you ask for anything simpler?? Click here for the recipe.

Pretzel Rolo Turtles

This is another one that only calls for three ingredients. Seriously, what are you going to do with all this extra time?? Although simple, these treats definitely have a crave-a-bility factor. The salty and sweet combination makes it impossible to eat just one! Find the recipe here.

Holiday Bourbon Whiskey Meatballs

Not looking to make a dessert? This savory dish is a great option as an hors d’oeuvre or side dish. With just six ingredients, the recipe only takes 10 minutes of prep. After that, just leave it in the crock pot for a couple of hours while you catch up on your favorite T.V. shows. Check out the recipe here.

The end result looks so good, it’s hard to believe that the recipe is only five ingredients. But if you love bacon as much as we do, you might want to consider doubling the recipe so you can sneak some extra for yourself! Visit here for the recipe.

Cranberry Pecan Brie Crostinis with Maple Sugar Glaze

Read that name again. Sounds fancy, right? It sure sounds like an impressive dish to show up to a holiday party with. But, here’s the secret – This recipe only has 6 ingredients and they’re so common, you might already have them in your pantry! Check it out here.
