Time flies when you’re having fun, and it’s already time to start getting ready to leave campus. If you’re a graduating senior—or even if you’re just heading home for the summer—make sure to cross these 12 things off your list before saying your final goodbye!
1. Explore unfamiliar parts of campus.
You may think you know your campus like the back of your hand by now, but have you actually really explored each area? You never know what kinds of cool things you can discover when you take the time to really look…Even if it’s just taking a stroll through a building you’ve never had classes in!
2. Attend one last campus event.
You’re not always going to have access to free entertainment and refreshments, so take advantage of it while you’re still on campus! College-hosted events have a special way of giving us all a sense of community and school pride. It’s a great way to make memories.
3. Perfect your resume.
Now is the time when you really need to fine-tune your resume. Make it a goal to visit your school’s career services while you’re still on campus. You wont have that perk after you leave! They’ll help critique your resume so that it’s in tip-top shape before you start sending it out to employers.
4. Plan a weekend road trip.
The weather is warmer…You’ve got free time…So why not grab your friends for one last adventure? Even if you don’t venture off too far, there are bound to be some cool places you can scope out with your friends.
5. Explore the surrounding city.
Sometimes campus can seem a bit like a bubble. Can you imagine how many exciting things are right outside that area? Take the time to really explore the city surrounding your school and discover some places you’ve never been before.
6. Take a pic with the mascot.
What better way to represent your school than to pose with the mascot? It’ll be the perfect picture to commemorate your college days!
7. Get involved in a new way.
It might be late to do something like starting a new club on campus, but there are plenty of other ways you can get involved at this point in the term. For starters, you can join a group fitness class, volunteer on campus, or even jump in on a game of intramural sports.
8. Hit up your favorite eating spots around campus.
Is there a go-to spot you always like to eat around campus? You can’t leave until you grab your favorite order one last time… and don’t forget to snap a pic for Instagram!
9. Take a stab at karaoke.
It might seem a bit silly, but don’t you ever get the urge to do something outside of your comfort zone when you’ve reached the end of a milestone? Who cares if you make a fool of yourself! The only thing you’re going to remember afterwards is how much fun you had. That’s one more memory for the books!
10. Start applying for jobs.
Sorry to break up the fun, but this one is actually really important. After all, you’ve spent the past four or so years preparing yourself for your career. Now it’s time to get started!
11. Visit old friends from freshman year.
Remember those friends you had in your class a few years back? Or what about your neighbors from your freshman year dorm building? It’s normal to drift apart as you go on and meet new people, but it’s never too late to reconnect! Why not hit up some old friends for a quick lunch?
12. Craft a DIY that encompasses your college experience.
Crafting is always a good time, so why not create something special that’ll help you remember your college career? Scrapbooks are a fan favorite, but that’s not the only thing you can do. Another big one is creating a T-shirt quilt out of all the college tees you’ve racked up. This is especially popular if you were in Greek life and have drawers filled with lettered shirts!
