14 Things All Recent Grads Know to Be True

One chapter has ended, but another has just begun. If you’re new to this whole post-grad life, we’ll bet you can relate to these 14 things below.

1. Literally everyone you run into asks about your job search.

Ask me one more time, Linda.

2. A productive day for you consists of sending out job applications.

It’s quite the task. Especially when you upload your resume and still have to list out your job experience.

3. You work endlessly on perfecting your elevator pitch and interview responses.

You’re basically reciting them in your sleep.

4. You feel motivated and positive whenever you step out of an interview…

This is the one. I’m so sure of it.

5. …Only to get yet another rejection email, or no response at all.

Is this even possible?!

6. You maybe even start questioning your life path.

*Googles how to make money petting dogs.*

7. But once you land a job, it feels like you have this “adulting” thing down pat.

It feels pretty legit having a real full-time job.

8. It’s also pretty darn liberating having steady paychecks coming in.

You won’t have to give that side of guac a second thought, and that feels amazing.

9. You often mourn the loss of those crazy weekends with your friends in college.

Ahh…there really never was a dull moment.

10. But at the same time, staying in seems more enticing than ever.

And you wonder how you ever used to go out AT 11 pm.

11. You may even have a new found interest in HGTV and daytime talk shows.

But it still blows your mind whenever a couple chooses the absolute worst house on “House Hunters.”

12. It’s almost unreal that the next big milestones are engagements and babies.

Another engagement announcement on Facebook? Come. On.

13. You start wondering why school never taught you about paying bills or taxes.

Where exactly are my paychecks going?

14. And finally, it still hasn’t fully hit you that you won’t be going back in fall.

But when it does, get ready for the emotions.
