5 Microwave Dinner Recipes You’ll Want to Remember

Without a kitchen in your dorm room, eating a satisfying meal in college comes with a couple of challenges. Of course you’ve got your meal plan — which is absolutely awesome — but sometimes you just want to kick back at your own place and indulge (and that ramen and Easy Mac isn’t cutting it!). That’s why we took the liberty of gathering some easy microwave dinner recipes you’ll definitely want to remember.

Mac & Cheese

Think about those rainy nights when you really don’t feel like trekking all the way to the dining hall. What are you craving? If you’re anything like us, probably a warm comfort food like mac & cheese. Find the full recipe here.

What you’ll need:

  • 1/3 cup pasta
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp cornstarch
  • 4 tbsp cheddar cheese, grated
  • salt & pepper


Pizza

The thought of microwaving your pizza, let alone making it in a mug, is definitely a little bit out there. Is that going to stop us from devouring this delicious meal? Absolutely not. Find the full recipe here.

What you’ll need:

  • 4 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder
  • 1/16 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp marinara sauce
  • 1 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 5 mini pepperoni
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs


Omelet

Okay, an omelet may not exactly be your idea of a “dinner” recipe, but is anybody going to stop you from enjoying this hearty meal past noon? We don’t think so. Find the full recipe here.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp water
  • green peppers, diced
  • yellow onion, diced
  • ham, diced
  • bacon, crumbled
  • cheddar cheese, shredded


Cheese & Broccoli Rice Bowl

  • 5 tbsp rice (quick cooking)
  • 2/3 cup cold water
  • 2 broccoli florets, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp milk

Calzone in a Mug

  • 4-5 tbsp finely grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 tsp dry Italian seasoning
