7 Ways to Reward Yourself Once Midterms are Over

It’s safe to say that we all look forward to the moment when you step out of your very last midterm. After the hard work you’ve put into studying and prepping, it’s finally time to take a breather and reward yourself — and we’ve got some pretty great ideas how. Take a look!

1. Take an extra long nap without any guilt.

Naps are always so much better after you’ve knocked all of your pressing responsibilities out of the way. Let yourself fall into that deep relaxation you haven’t had in awhile.

2. Treat yourself to your favorite food (and take time to eat it).

Put the instant noodles and cafeteria food aside, it’s time to indulge! But before you completely vacuum your plate, make sure to take it slow and actually savor each bite — you’ve earned this foodie bliss!

3. Go on a Netflix binge.

Who cares if you finish all five seasons of your favorite show in one day! You probably studied that same amount of chapters in one day before your midterms, right? It’s called balance!

4. Finally finish the book you’ve been reading.

Before the next set of projects and exams make their way toward you, dive into that book you never had a chance to finish. Now is the time!

5. Spend an hour looking at memes.

Sure, you probably already do this all the time (like when you were supposed to be deep in your study session, right?), but at least now you can do it guilt-free.

6. Order a coffee to sip and enjoy, rather than just down it for the caffeine.

When you grab your coffee fix each day, you’re probably just focused on the energy boost that’ll get you through your classes. This time, make your order a little more special. Add a flavor shot, get the whipped cream topping, or try that seasonal beverage you’ve been eyeing — Whatever tickles your taste buds!

7. Spend a day pampering yourself.

A personal spa day? Yes, please! You probably don’t want to dish out hundreds of bucks at the nearest resort, but you can totally experience this bliss right in your dorm room. Grab some sheet masks, slice some cucumbers for your eyes, pop in some headphones with soothing music, and then kick back and relax.
