Low-Stress Breakfast Ideas for Busy Mornings

Breakfast in college is a hassle. If you’re anything like us, you probably want as much shut-eye as you can get (Meaning, you snooze your alarm until you absolutely have to get up for class). Nothing wrong with that! But unfortunately, we’re then left scrambling for quick breakfast options, because—let’s be real—it’s nearly impossible concentrating in class on an empty stomach. Take a look at the no-hassle, low-stress breakfast ideas below that are complete game changers on busy mornings.

Overnight Oats

A breakfast that’s ready for you as soon as you wake up? Yes, please! All you have to do is combine some rolled oats with cold milk (almond & coconut milk are often preferred!) and any other ingredients you like, then pop them in your mini fridge overnight while you sleep. Then, simply grab and go before class! Easy! Here are a few different recipes you can try.

Greek Yogurt & Granola

No preparation needed—just the way we like breakfast in college! Greek yogurt itself makes a great protein-filled breakfast, but the granola is a great added touch that’ll help you feel full longer. If you’ve got an extra minute or two, add some fruit as well!


Oatmeal Energy Bites

Here’s another easy make-ahead recipe that you can prepare at the start of the week, and then simply grab-and-go before class each day. Oatmeal Energy Bites are typically refrigerated (or frozen) rolled oats and peanut butter formed into balls with other delicious ingredients — like chocolate chips, flax seed, coconut flakes, or whatever else you prefer. Fresh Fruit

It’s simple, but it works! Don’t underestimate the power of grabbing an apple or banana before class. If you’ve got a few more minutes to spare, why not add a spread like peanut butter, chop them into some yogurt, or add a side of granola? You can even freeze any leftover fruit and then blend them into smoothies later on…Yum!
