When it comes to fun in the sun, trips to the beach and evening BBQs come to mind. But sometimes you just have to think outside the box! We’ve put together a list of fun summer activities you might not have thought of.
Go berry picking.
Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries… you name it! Pick-your-own berry farms are the perfect spot if you’re hunting for a daytime activity. Then once you bring your fresh pickings home, how about whipping up a summer recipe with them?
Take a Class (just for fun!)
Before you scoff at this idea, let us explain! We’re not suggesting your typical college courses like stats or economics (although if that’s what you want, more power to ya!). Think of anything you’ve always wanted to learn, and there’s likely a class for that. Cooking, painting, candle-making… or even something as crazy as aerial trapeze!
Enjoy Outdoor Yoga
Find your inner peace this summer and enjoy the great outdoors. Whether you’re an experienced yogi, or you’re just starting out, outdoor yoga is one of our fun summer activities that’s perfect if you prefer something low-key and healthy. How about heading to a farm and giving goat yoga a shot? (Yes, that’s really a thing!)
Try Horseback Riding
Spending the day with an adorable horse? That’s sure to make everyone jealous. Besides the fact that these majestic creatures are so beautiful, taking a stroll on horseback is refreshing and rejuvenating.
Host a Yard Sale
Practice Ballroom Dancing
Ever dreamed of owning the dance floor like the celebrities on Dancing with the Stars? You can! Ballroom dancing lessons are quite popular and widely available. It’s a fun date idea or just a great way to bond with some close friends.
Run a 5K
Here’s another healthy activity (if you’re into that)! 5K’s are usually set up to raise money for a good cause, and they often have fun themes like zombies or glow in the dark. Ready for a bigger challenge? Opt for a half or full marathon instead!
Volunteering can be anything from taking a whole service trip to a foreign country or helping out locally like at a blood drive or animal shelter. Either way, it feels great making a difference!
Take up Gardening
Got a green thumb? Even if you don’t, you can still give gardening a shot! Fill your space with wildly colored flowers, or grow some herbs and fresh veggies that you can cook with – yum!
