5 Ways to Drink More Water This Week

As simple as it might be, water is kind of a big deal. It helps us fight fatigue after a long day of classes, and keeps our skin in shape after a long night of studying. Despite being the original miracle drink, most people just don’t consume enough of it each day. To help everyone out, we put pulled together five easy-peasy ways to drink more water this week.

1. Throw some fruit in it.

Just drinking water throughout the day can seem a bit bland. How about adding some flavor? Slice up some of your favorite fruits and then allow them to chill in your water bottle over night. It’ll add a touch of sweetness and flavor without going overboard on the sugar like juices and sodas do. This is one of our favorite ways to drink more water.

2. Invest in a reusable water bottle.

Reusable water bottles are especially convenient for busy days on campus. You can easily throw one in your bag and take it from class to class, and you can refill it throughout the day rather than tossing it and buying another one.

Pro tip: look for an insulated bottle so that your water stays chilled longer.

3. Mark your water bottle with times.

It’s typically recommended that you should drink about 8 glasses of water per day (about half a gallon). Clearly, chugging those 8 glasses at once isn’t the way to go, and you should space out your consumption instead. Label your water bottle with tick marks that indicate how much of your water bottle you want to finish by a specific time. It’s a simple, friendly reminder to keep on drinking!

4. Modify your drink order.

A good way to get enough water into your day is by making it your go-to beverage with your meals. This means rethinking that soda order when you’re dining out! Try a sparkling water instead if you’re not ready to give up on that crave-able carbonation.

5. Use an app.

Forgetting to keep drinking water all day long is easy. You’ve got other things to worry about, like getting to class in time and meeting project deadlines. Waterlogged is a helpful app that helps you track your water consumption so you can focus on the other important parts of your day. Easy!
